ALL THE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

We've compiled a list of questions we are frequently asked, for you to look over. If you don't see your question answered, just get in touch with us and we'd be more than happy to discuss any aspect of your event.

WHAT ARE YOUR PERFORMANCE TIMES?

 

CEREMONY, CORPORATE / PARTY: Performance times are bespoke to your event, please contact us to discuss your requirements.

 

VINTAGE CABARET SHOW: The show consists of 2 x 1hr show sets. If you require different times please don't hesitate to get in touch with us to discuss this.

 

LIVE BAND PACKAGE: The standard performance times for the full band are 8-12am with a 30/35min break to coincide with your buffet or tea/coffee break.

DJ PACKAGE: The standard times for the DJ package are either 11-12am if you are booking the incorporated DJ package or 12-1am if you have a later licence at the venue; however this can be tailored to suit your timings, so don't hesitate to ask us about your specific requirements.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE THE BAND TO SET UP?

​

It takes us approx. 60 minutes from gaining clear access to the performance area to set up and sound check our equipment, and then a short 10/15mins to change and be ready to begin your entertainment. 

​

For weddings we always arrive at your venue approx. 90mins prior to the agreed performance time to accommodate any eventuality. Suitable arrival times can be arranged in advance for corporate / party functions.

WHAT KIND OF MUSIC DO YOU PLAY?

​

We cover a wide variety of styles from 50's through to current chart hits, including a selection of called ceilidh dances. You can download a sample repertoire here. This changes regularly so feel free to ask for a current one in the run up to your event.

WILL YOU LEARN MY FAVOURITE SONG?
​

Absolutely!

 

Ceremony: If you book The Sirens for your Ceremony they’ll learn up to five songs for you! Many couples have a favourite song that they envisage themselves walking down the aisle to, they can help to make that vision a reality as well as incorporating songs that are special to you and your partner for signing your register and making your exit after becoming a married couple. 

 

Weddings: We are happy to learn one new song for each of our bookings, most couples use this option for their first dance; however you can ask us to learn a song for any part of the evening.  We also have the facility to play an original song through our PA system if you prefer, just let Yvonne know and she will arrange that for you.

Bespoke DJ: If you've booked our DJ package you can choose up to 10 songs to be included in this part of our service, if you would prefer us to include songs within a specific genre or style we can accommodate that too. We will send you a form to fill in nearer the time of your event. We will also provide a Whatsapp group for your guests to join and make requests throughout the evening.

 

Please put your song requests in writing by email or letter at least 12 weeks in advance of the event date.

HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE?
​

HOW DO WE MAKE PAYMENT?

​

Bookings are secured by a £200 holding fee with the remaining balance payable at least 14 working days in advance of the event date. We accept payment by Bank Transfer, Cheque or cash, all the necessary details can be provided on request.

WILL YOU PROVIDE A CONTRACT?

​

Yes we will provide you with a Standard Engagement Contract to sign and return to us upon receipt of your deposit. Included with your contract is a list of important information points about your booking to keep for your records and refer to in the run up to your event. We are also happy to offer a consultation in advance to go over all of your requirements, just contact Yvonne to arrange this.

DO I NEED TO PROVIDE ANYTHING FOR THE BAND?

​

It is important to check with your venue in advance of making a booking to ensure there will be enough space for us to set up and perform and also if the venue has a sound limiter on site as these things can determine if it's possible for us to provide you with entertainment on the day. The majority of venues will have this information on hand. 

​

We also require the use of a secure changing room to change before and after our performances and safely leave our valuables, a conference suite or meeting room for example is an ideal place for this purpose. If neither of these are available we are more than happy to discuss further options with you.
